Model-analysis, simplification & optimization

This solution offers extensive additional functions for the analysis and optimization of constructions, 3D parts and 3D part structures that have been created in HiCAD or imported via 3D interfaces.

With the automated simplification functions and the extensions for the definition and administration of simplified substitute references, the preparation for the data export or for the use of complex machines in the layout construction can be significantly simplified, especially in the case of large constructions.

Also for the “BIM / IFC interface”, which is widespread in construction, the simplification functions can be used to automatically generate simplified models for LOD100-LOD300 from an exact LOD400 model.

Functions such as “internal reference of identical parts” also allow the amount of data to be significantly reduced, especially for the STEP- and IFC-export.

An excerpt of the available optimization functions is shown in the picture on the right.

Configurator-/Excel Interface PLUS

With the “Configurator-/Excel Interface PLUS” module, in addition to the options of the “Configurator-/Excel Interface” module, complete designs and assembly structures can also be controlled via external product configurators.

Variables and attributes for multi-level assembly structures can be set automatically, and constructions can be rebuilt and updated from parameterized individual parts. Configuration changes also take into account individual changes to geometries and the part structure.

The module can also be used in web-based product configurators thanks to a spooler operation and predefined automatic mechanisms for generating labels, item numbers, parts lists, drawings and interface files.

Configurator-/Excel – Interface

With the “Configurator Interface” module, variables and attributes of a HiCAD part can be controlled via Excel-based configurators.

The Excel file can be inserted directly into the HiCAD part, which means that the configuration can be changed without accessing the original file.

Alternatively, the part can be linked to the original file and updated if the configuration is changed.
